I FINALLY caved. After what felt like months of being pestered at least 2x a week I gave in and wrote my success story for the gym. And then they posted it. . . for everyone to read. So here it is–my personal success story:
My names Erin, and i just lost 50lbs! Wow, that sounds like an add for diet pills. But really, I did. And no diet pills were needed. Something clicked 4th of July 2009 while i was laying on the beach, everyone in their finest swimsuits. . . all i wanted to do was cover up. Period. And that’s when i decided that i needed to make a major lifestyle change. So i did. I changed my eating habits, and started in on my fun new fitness routine (which is where 24hr fitness, their finger scanning, and my fabulous trainer RJ comes in).
i started training at 24hr fitness august of 2009. Right away i loved it, i knew i was in desperate need of a coach to force me to work hard, and work hard i did, but guess what. it was FUN. And i began loving that tired feeling you get after a nice long workout. Yes my eating habits changed along with my new found love for fitness, but it didnt have to change that much. i ate sorbet instead of sherbert, i started rationing out my m&m’s, and i started snacking instead of eating huge heavy meals. i also developed a deep personal relationship with protein bars.
I wont say that losing 50lbs was easy, at times i got frustrated that i wasnt seeing results (patience is not a viture i posess), but i stuck with it. And kept going, and kept losing. And developed triceps (thanks to RJ). People dont recoginze me anymore, and i love it. i’m finally comfortable with my body, and i can see my muscles!! I honestly dont think i could have lost my weight, gained lean mean muscle and had as much fun as i did without my trainer. He was glorious, he knew just what to say to motivate me to do the last few reps, he was funny, and made working out fun. So hats off to me, my triceps, and to RJ.
Proof that I’m really on the board!
ok ok i know. . . RJ’s guns are still perhaps a TAD bigger than mine. Also forgive my pony-tail. No matter what I do after working out I rock the side pony like its my business.
