Alexandria made her debut on march 11, 2012. At 18in long, weighing 6lbs 5oz, Alexandria came into this world at 6:04pm. And it was quite a ride.
The contractions started on saturday afternoon right as we were moving furniture out of el redondo (our first home, which finally sold!), i wasnt quite sure it was 100% “it”, so i didnt tell anyone until later that evening, i finally broke the news to mike “so, i um think i’m having contractions. and they’re um, kinda getting stronger?”. . . so we walked, and walked, and walked, and got some pizza, and then things started getting intense. I sent mike to bed to get some sleep (i knew i’d be needing my coach in good spirits), and stayed downstairs on my exercise ball watching “make it or break it” (yes, i’m a huge fan of teenage tv shows). . . finally at 3am i knew it was time to head to the hospital. We got to the hospital, and the nursing staff was INCREDIBLE. I was admitted at 5am (after my water broke), and the real fun was just beginning. We didn’t make it very long before the epidural was in, the contractions were getting stronger, and things were happening. . you know “down there”. Finally it was time to push. . . and push i did. For TWO hours, and nothing was happening. NOTHING but searing pressure down there, and the intense need to get the child out. After two hours lexi, mike, and i were worse for the wear, and it was time to consider alternative actions. . . aka- cutting into my used-to-be-finely sculpted abs and getting the babe out. Well at this point you can imagine what i though about lexi– this child is clearly MASSIVE. a GIANT baby. At at 6:04 we found out just how “giant” the baby wasn’t. She’s a tiny peanut.
Welcome to the world Alexandria. We love you more than you’ll ever know.
our first family picture. . . (ignore the puke in my hair)
look how happy we are to FINALLY be out of the cramped womb. . .
Tucker and Reagan are coping quite nicely to their new baby sister, they’re full of curiosity-but still keep their distance.
yup. daddy’s girl already. . .
