hello erin »

nine months.

dear alexandria

Another month, and even more big changes! your ever emerging personality, increased mobility, and the start of the Christmas holiday have kept us insanely busy.  But to tell you the truth, even though our schedule may be hectic, it’s just plain fun having you around.

First up, teeth.  Two cute, tiny baby teeth are finally here!  The two weeks before they popped through were rough…lots of drooling, chewing and all-around grumpiness.  But since then, you’ve been back to your smiley, happy self.  And it’s been a welcomed sight for mom and dad.  Two down, seventeen to go!

I think thanksgiving has been your favorite holiday to date! we celebrated with lots of family friends at the Aguilars- and everyone LOVED you. you’d smile and wave, and eat up all the attention you were getting. and the food. oh, the food! lots of new tastes, smells and textures.  You tried it all, and gobbled it all up.  To be honest, we were worried you might get tired and cranky staying up past your bedtime.  But all the new sights and sounds just kept you going well into the night, with a a big smile the whole time.

Your personality is definitely emerging- and you are one independent kid. you want to do everything yourself! As soon as we pick you up, you spin around and push away to get the best view possible of your surroundings.  And as much as you love playing with mom and dad, you’re more than content to play by yourself with all your toys just as long as mom and dad aren’t too far away.  While that means fewer and fewer baby snuggles, we definitely LOVE your independent nature.  You’ve also taken to exploring the house and cruise from room to room and down hallways (you also discovered the stairs!). the kitchen seems to be your new favorite room to play in- especially the doggy’s water bowl.  You’re definitely on the cautious side, and take your time exploring new things.   But that’s okay…there’s plenty of time to discover!

The start of the Christmas season has definitely been fun! We got our tree, hung the stockings, put up Christmas lights, and visited Santa. Picking out your perfect first Christmas tree was an easy task with you along to touch and inspect every tree we looked at- and once we got home you took great pride in “helping” us decorate. We also took you to your very first visit to see Santa; you seemed intrigued by his long white beard, and his tiny little glasses. We successfully got a picture without tears. I think you and Santa have a long, great relationship ahead of you.

Lex. If at all possible we love you more and more as each day passes. You seem to always be in a good mood- complete with smiling face. We can’t get enough of you and your sweet, sweet personality.

We love you!

mom & dad
