This weekend was filled with so much fun for both parents and babe alike. Friday night we double-dated to Terranea to watch the sunset over the cliffs sipping cocktails with another couple who has a babe the same age as lex. It was SO much fun to meet up for once without the babes. Katie and I met while we were still pregnant at pilates and our husbands do swim every week together with the kids. We adore these two, their son, their love of skiing, surfing, and wine. The restaurants special for the night was none other than a Canadian delicacy named “poutine” and being the canadian that i am i dove right into the masterpiece of fries, cheese curds, gravy, and short ribs.
You know what’s super fun about having a baby? They dont care how late you got home the night before or how hungover you are the next day. They wake up at the exact same time, and ours definitely didnt come with a snooze button. So saturday morning involved donuts and naps all around. We went to visit our niece & nephews on our way to our second-to-last-birthday party of the season. It was seriously SO much fun- complete with party hats, giant balloons, pizza, and cake (i’m really going to miss birthday parties). Lex will FINALLY wear her sunnies again without ripping them off and handing them to us. ive been patiently waiting for this day to arrive because honestly isnt life better behind sunglasses?
Sunday we ran errands (which included a trip to the pet store- I’m 99% sure she now wants a bird, fish, bunny, and another kitty), hit the gym, lex and i had a play date (which she cried through most of. thank-you cutting TWO TEETH), and mike cooked the most delicious homemade pot-pie that is making me consider going back to work so he can stay home and cook dinner every night because it would be way more delicious.
and there you have it. our super-fun weekend that actually involved us going out like grown-ups!
