hello erin »

lake weekend.

we had such a fun family weekend at the lake! my in-laws recently purchased a house up in lake arrowhead- and we haven’t gotten to use it to its full potential until now! last summer lex was a tad to small to really partake in any of the fun things a lake has to offer- but now, well now she’s an awesome age for just about everything from kayaking to duck watching, lizard chasing to beach playing, and nature walks. All in all we had an ah-mazing weekend (even the doodle made it onto the dock to feel the wind in his beachy hair), and i’m 100% sure we’ll use the house much, much, much more this summer.

we had a blast exploring the outdoors, listening for birds, carrying around sticks, and chasing lizards.

But lets behonest- this kid is much more of a beach-goer. Luckily my inlaws live next to an awesome playground & beach. We even made a new friend (finn. who was SO CUTE!). And lex channeled her inner elton-john with her oversized sunnies.

and the kayak. OH the kayak. She LOVED being in the kayak. She hated watching from the dock while other people kayak’d without her. And she hated her life-jacket even more (sorry babe. safety first). . . and yes bows are a required part of all water-activities.

    Sara - Lex,

You are too cool for school! I’m so proud of you for embracing the sunnies and the bow! It will serve you well.

So glad she loved the kayaking adventure with Daddy! She’ll be keeping up with Gramps’ extreme sports in no time!
