Yesterday i’m 99.9% sure lex had the best day ever. Just take a look at the evidence:
it started out like any other thursday. Grover and gymboree. We came home, had a lunch filled with black-beans (this kids hasnt met a black-bean she hasnt immediately gobbled up), changed into our swim-suits and hit the backyard for of water-table and hose action.
After a long two hour nap lex woke up with the craziest bed-head ever (i may have accidentally gotten sunscreen in it). . . so we tried out pig tails for the first time in order to tame the mess, and it was nothing short of adorable. Our afternoon walk started off normally- a look at the ocean, and we had every intention of going to the school to romp around in the flowers. . . but lex looked at me, pointed at the ocean, and i said- why. theheck. not?!
it was the best impromptu surprise for lex EVER. She had a smile on her face the whole walk down– she knew exactly where we were headed. It was so easy- we didnt take anything special and just picked up rocks, dipped our toes, and enjoyed the sunshine. When we got home everything was incredibly sandy- so we hosed off our feet, lex’s little pink car, and each other. Dad got home just in time for dinner, real clean-up in the bath, and lots of book reading. Last summer lex was so bitty that we didn’t get to enjoy all the fun things summer has to offer (like sunshine), this summer we’re taking full advantage.
BRING ON SUMMER!
