hello erin »

blackberry picking.

Saturday we had to deal with hyper-teething (like 102 fever and bloody molars and painful cries)- needless to say by the time sunday came around we all needed a major distraction and a dose of the outdoors. Enter blackberry picking. I was highly skeptical when mike said something along the lines of “well, we used to go when i was at summer camp as a little kid. i’m sure it’s still there”. . . Oh ya? your sure its still there 20 something years later? Well, the man was 100% right! The trail was close to our house, easy to get to, empty, and the blackberries were aplenty!

We brought along a pail to collect all our berries.

and took advantage of the path to snap a TON of pictures.

Dad picked. lex ate. It seemed totally fair to me.

she clearly needed out of the house. . .

yes mi-mi (the mermaid) helped.

It ended up being the PERFECT morning activity. And something i know we’ll do again before summer’s done. especially because we made pie from all the blackberries (recipe coming tomorrow!).
