hello erin »

beer & picnics. parks & sharks.

Another weekend come & gone. This weekend we had NOTHING planned except a friday night excursion to my brother’s white-coat ceremony at UCI (let me tell you-they need to serve cocktails at those things. and thank goodness his class is only 104 kids. and thank goodness they had a chocolate fondue station at the after party). So we relaxed, party-planned, and parked it the rest of the weekend.

A certain gentleman in my life is turning 30 in a few short weeks. And while he already has his birthday present (i cant be blamed, its virtually impossible to hide a 9’6 stand-up paddle-board), we are knee-deep in party planning. Just a little shindig for a few close friends with the pizza truck and beer tasting. So we headed off for our first experience at total wine & more. We were more than successful and left with two carts filled with fun beer. Post-nap we decided a picnic was definitely in order for dinner. So we hit the park with salads, quesadillas, and delicious cupcakes- and now i’m pretty sure lex fully wants every meal served to her on a blanket at the park.

Sunday was spent at home depot (lex’s happy place. . .  why do kids LOVE that place so much?!). Post-nap time we FINALLY gave into lex’s demands to see her BF kai. She’s been asking about him for DAYS- walking around asking where he is, and wanting to go swimming with him “kai?! pool?!”. So we headed to the park where they chased each other, chased birds, rolled around in the sand, and begged to go swimming in the ocean. These two are adorable together- the dads and babes do swim lessons every monday- while the moms hit pilates. It’s the perfect relationship for all of us. After we tucked lex into bed it was ALL SHARKS ALL NIGHT.  Three cheers for shark week!!

EHayes - So fun! Looks like a great weekend, I love ones with no plans. And seriously, Ashlynn loves Lowes and hams it up every time we good.

Colleen - What a fun weekend! I agree, there should be drinks served at graduations. Those things are so darn boring except for the two seconds where you get to see Your Person walk across the stage. A glass of champs would def lighten things up a bit!

I can’t wait to hear about this party!! Where is my invitation?!?

Sara - Pretty sure I want to be there for the pizza truck… that was seriously THE BEST EVER!!

Looks like little Lexi will be a great party planner, just like her mama! She’s following in your footsteps already!
