Saturday mike left us ladies and hopped on a plane to Northern California to celebrate his BFF’s 30th birthday. So we coped the only way we knew how. With pedicures and fro-yo.
My friend sara was puppy-sitting for her in-laws, so after lex fully accosted Lucy we took lex for her very first pedicure. I saw it going one of two ways- 1. She’d love it. Be super interested in it. And be smitten with nail salons forever. Or 2. Meltdown confusion over some lady touching her toes resulting in a very embarrassed me with only half a painted foot.
Luckily she opted for version 1. Loved picking out the polish, loved that she got a lollipop, and was majorly intrigued by the whole process- she even sat still while her blue toes dried and while I got treated to a pedicure all my own.
Her good behavior meant fro-yo was definitely in order. Puppy + pedi + fro-yo = best day ever.
I’m 100% sure I created a monster. She acts surprised when she sees her toes and goes “BLUE!” And then giggles and checks to see if my toes are still “BLUE!” too.
Sunday we grabbed mike from the airport and headed to watch FOOOTBALL with a couple who’s also heavily involved in mikes fantasy football league. The puppy was there again, and lex loved having a play mate who’s just her size to run around with. Lucy (or “lulu” to lex) followed her around everywhere! I dont think there’s anything cuter than puppies & babes!
Mikes friend matt LOVES lobster diving. I think opening spiny lobster day is pretty much his christmas. So he came home with a cooler packed with lobster! At first lex was horrified (possibly because we had just seen the same lobsters at the aquarium on friday ALIVE), but she warmed up real quick and loved touching them (and carrying them. . ick). She sadly didnt hang until dinner time (bacon wrapped lobster was on the menu), so she owes mike and i big time for having to leave the lobster party early!
