five on F R I D A Y

HAPPY OCTOBER!! tis the season for pumpkins, apple, yummy smelling candles, and of course cooler temperatures (fingers crossed on that one. . . )

Brought to you by the lovely ladies behind: The Good Life. A. Liz Adventures. Carolina Charm. & Hello! Happiness.

TRADER JOES REDUCED GUILT GUAC. Holy cow this stuff is delicious. And it seriously doesn’t last long around here (especially with someone who quadruple dips and just licks the quac off their chip). It claims to be “reduced-guilt”- which might not be true when you eat the whole thing over the course of a few days

Well baby visits. We majorly struggled with lex’s weight for the first 6 months of her life (we’re talking in the doctors office 2-3x a week…even now we still get weight lectures!). Now that lex is older we can finally relax and actually look forward to finding out lex’s STATS- the doc was proud that we managed to FINALLY hit 20lbs (which put us back on the weight chart!) itΒ  puts lex in the 5th percentile for weight… And 50th for height! Which might explain why it is so hard to find pants that are long enough yet fit in the waist. And with only one shot this time around… A lollipop dried up her tears and we went along our merry way. So excited for six doctor-free and shot-free months!

COOKIE BUTTER. oh yes, another trader joes item. I bought this because lex LOVES her peanut butter, and everyone raves about cookie butter. I originally bought it as a treat for mike and lex but soon realized that even with my nut allergy I CAN EAT IT TOO! I swear christmas came early for me. . . its delicious. and dangerous. And tastes like cookies and cinnamon and all things good.

We took updated family pictures/holiday card pictures this week. And got a little sneak peak from the oh-so-talented, and oh-so-patient Ala. Lex took it upon herself to kick off her rainboots every chance she got, and decided it was her mission to collect every stick and leaf in a 3 mile radius. Which is why ala is patient, and amazing, and can always find pretty light. We love these so much because we’re totally not the perfectly poised family- we’re the family with the kid with only one rain boot, who wears hippie headbands, and has a big personality. We cant wait to see more, more, more!!

birthday plans. My big 3-0 birthday is a mere 4 months away so the planning has officially begun. On the list of things to do are- vegas, britney, and this skirt. I’m excited that people are actually RSVP’ing 4 months out- and i think we’ll have an amazing group going with us (although wont they be surprised when we go see celine instead of brit! its seriously my life-goal to see celine).

Colleen Sullivan - Mmmm TJ’s cookie butter is so good πŸ™‚ Tastes great on one of their graham crackers too! The boot on the floor picture gives your family photos character and is a real look at what life with an active toddler is like! You are going to have the BEST time at Britney (or Celine!)!!!

Andrea - Gosh, don’t you just love Trader Joes? I’m kind of addicted to their chocolate chip granola bars and for some reason I justify eating all of them because they have granola in them (they are really just glorified candy bars.) Love the family photos…that light IS beautiful! -Andrea http://www.handandtheheart.com

Courtney - I LOVE your Christmas card pictures!! They look so cute. Especially the one with the boot that has fallen off πŸ™‚

Your birthday party plans sound amazing!! Can I come?! My mom wouldn’t let me come to see Celine with her when I was in 4th grade because I had a choir concert the next day, so she took her friend instead. Seriously, to this day I still give her a hard time about that. It was Celine!! During the “My Heart Will Go On Days” !!! Mother.

Jenny Collier - The Britney birthday sounds like SO much fun.

And the cookie butter? So dangerous. It was gone in a matter of days the last time I picked some up.

Danielle Hansen - Ahh love me some TJ’s. and I’m so glad I’m not the only one with a teeny 6 month old! I hope my guy starts growing out of this low body fat thing… dr visits and weight checks are stressing me out! He is so happy and so strong, and the words “failure to thrive” are killing me!! Love your blog. Newest reader! πŸ™‚
