We had a blast this weekend! Instead of pout about the fact that fall has yet to arrive, we decided to take advantage of the warm weather and have ourselves a nice little weekend. Saturday we got together with a few of my college friends for a little BBQ. Their son connor is a. adorable and b. the exact same age as lex (well, hes technically 45 minutes older. but they’re close enough). We loved getting together with them- its always insanely nice to hang out with other couples who are normal, sweet, fun, AND have a baby the exact same age- we seriously loved hanging out with carly, brian & connor! Mike even proclaimed at the end of the night that it was nice “hanging out with normal people”. . . i’m not sure if he was insinuating that i’m not normal- or that my other friends aren’t normal?
The kids loved each other too- by the end of the night their sweet book reading turned into steamy kissing.
Sunday was HOT. I mean really H O T. There was a soft warm breeze, and barely any waves so we took a walk down to the water to romp around and look for mermaids. It always amazes me how much lex isnt afraid of the ocean one single bit. Its awesome (and terrifying) how much she loves that giant body of water filled with fish, sharks, sting rays, and possibly mermaids.
*instead of a swim suit lex opted to wear her dodgers shirt in honor of the playoffs!
Mike decided to go to the dodger game and leave lex and i high and dry at home. So we decided to stick it to him and make delicious chocolate cookies we have zero intention of sharing. For a girl who loves to “wipe wipe wipe” when things get dirty she certainly isnt afraid to get her hands dirty. . . although when it comes to cookie batter neither am i.
And that’s all folks!
