Christmas this year is officially over. You know that saying about it not being a party unless someone pukes? WELL, if measured by those standards we had a very successful Christmas! We hosted Christmas Eve for my husbands family- it turned out perfectly! My poor, sweet, niece has allergies- and we successfully had an egg-free, dairy-free, and nut-free meal. Complete with a hot coca bar. Lex got her play-cottage, and it was impossible to tear her away for dinner. That evening we all went to a little plaza by our house and watched santa come. . . on a fire truck! I always love seeing that stuff through the kids eyes.
To say lex was excited about her playhouse would be a drastic understatement.
The Christmas Eve crew- minus my sister-in-law who was sick and had to leave a little early.
Christmas morning we woke up to discover that santa had come! Lex came down, took one look at her dress up tower, crib, and new tutu’s, and went straight for the princess bandaids that santa left in her stocking. Only after she had an “ariel” band-aid on could the fun begin. Her favorite toys were an ariel whose tail lights up when she sings, of course her buzz lightyear action figure, and lots of art supplies. I can’t wait to get into the puzzles, art stuff, and everything else when we get back from the snow.
After we finished up christmas morning at our house we went to my parents for christmas day. Where there were even more presents for lex to rip open and love. Among her favorites were her easel, lots of bubble guppies and little people play sets, toy story 3 (of course), and her new PBK kitty sleeping bag (which we weren’t sure she’d be old enough for. but she LOVES!). She loves my parents house because her most favorite dog EVER lives there (a tiny dachshund named abby).
My brother tricked mike and i into taking a nice little 4 mile run. I wish i could say i hated him for it. . . but i’m actually proud i managed to RUN FOUR MILES. I’m totes not a runner.
The evening involved toy story 3 on the couch, in a sleeping bag, with lex’s favorite person. She ate zero dinner, didn’t want to go to bed, and ended up being the one to throw-up everything in her stomach multiple times. We don’t think she’s sick- just way too much excitement for this little girl to handle!
Now we’re snuggled in mammoth and ready to hit the ski slopes (even if there isn’t much snow covering the slopes)!
