hello erin »

long weekend are for turkeys, lakes, and lights.

Whew. i LOVE long weekends! Especially when they involve seeing all our family and friends. We had such an amazing thanksgiving this year! It started out with a little 5k turkey trot- lex and i walked- while all the boys ran. And lex officially has a crush on nick (mike’s BFF who always dresses up as a turkey). Every year for dinner we ditch both our families and hang out with family friends- and we ALWAYS have a blast! This year there was probably 30 of us- and at least 30 sides (kari is seriously the hostess with the mostess). The food is always awesome- and lex is aways a hit (you can tell some of these parents are totally ready to be grandparents). The rest of the weekend was spent lakeside with mike parents and inland with mine.

Even turkey’s like post race orange slices.

With the help of a ladder and a self-timer we managed to snag a pretty good thanksgiving family picture (minus grump face who kept chanting “pie! pie! pie!”).

She cheered up once we arrived and she was promised turkey, pie, and fun.

Friday we headed to Lake Arrowhead to hang out with my in-laws who have a house up there. We spent the whole weekend accessorizing with hats and scarves.

Sunday we came down from the lake to visit my family. We hung christmas lights, sang carols, and got a little jolly. All in all it was one perfect long weekend!
