turkey bacon brussels.

Lately I’ve been obsessed with brussel sprouts. I blame a local restaurant who serves the BEST brussel sprouts (i literally beg to eat there when we go out)- but even with my growing obsession I’ve been terrified to actually COOK them. I’ve bought them numerous times- and just look at them sitting in the fridge-panic crosses my face- so i slam the fridge door shut and end up throwing them out a few days later (waster i know). Well i dug deep and got the courage to cook them- and i’m pretty sure these babies will be on the menu every day of the week from here on out.

INGREDIENTS:

– brussel sprouts

– 2 TBS olive oil

– 3/4 TBS salt

– pinch of peper

– 4 strips turkey bacon (uncooked).

– a few spoonfuls of garlic

Preheat the oven to 400. Line a baking sheet with foil & spray with non-stick cooking spray. Cut the brussles into halves or fourths and toss into bowl. Mix in the rest of the ingredients. Spread onto the pan and bake 30-35 minutes turning the bigger sprouts occasionally. Let cool and enjoy the meaty, bacony, garlicy ness.

I’ve never eaten Brussel Sprouts but this recipe might make me want to try them!

  • Yum!!! I need to try these. They look delicious!! I am guilty of being a food waster too?!!? One of my many goals for 2014..stop throwing out so much food!!! ha

  • Oh my gosh, YUM! Pinning this now!
We were grocery shopping a couple days ago and I asked Eric if he wanted me to get brussel sprouts and he told me no (even though he loves them)! I think he’s just as scared to try eating my cooking, as I am to actually cook them, ha ha! But I am trying this asap!

  • Quick dumb question… is the bacon pre cooked?

  • Yum Yum Yum! I LOVE brussel spouts….but I think I will love them we bacon even more!

  • I don’t even know what brussell sprouts are… let alone have a yearning for them. I do know they grow weird, so there’s that… I think?

Either way, your picture is appetite inducing and I could probably get behind it for that reason alone. Or because it’s almost lunch time?

I just tried brussel sprouts for the first time EVER last week and loved them! I will defeinitely add this to the veggie rotation.

  • I’m terrified of brussel sprouts! I need to try this recipe!

  • I never knew how much I loved brussel sprouts until I had them with bacon. This is a close variation of my favorite dish, too!

  • You had me sold at bacon. That is all. 🙂

  • One more question! I’m going to make this in about an hour (wish me luck!) Garlic powder? Or did you mince garlic cloves? And how much exactly is a few spoonfuls?
Ah! I’m totally an EXACT recipe kinda girl!
