When Mike and I talked about me being a stay-at-home-mom I was straight-up- terrified. I mean- what was i going to do with this little person day in and day out? None of my friends had kids, who was i going to hang out with? Vent to? Get advice from? Well, almost two years into this gig and the terror has completely subsided. We have a laundry list of go-to-activities, our schedule is jam packed with play-dates, library visits, lunches, and activities. And i’ve made some a+ buds along the way.
When lex was a few months old we joined a “developmental class” for babes. It was pretty awesome, we learned how to “play” with the babes, how to help them work on those necessary skills like rolling and crawling. The most awesome part? I met an amazing group of moms- we cried together, we laughed together, we nursed together, and our babes have grown-up together. I can honestly say i don’t know where’d i’d be without this group of mamas and babes! Lex LOVES her friends- she’s always asking to go to my gym with Aly, play soccer with fiona and waika, go paint with madeline, alex, and asher. . . we’re having a bounce house at lex’s birthday party- and she keeps naming off the friends who she wants to jump around with- i totally love this outgoing sweet kid!
So how do we keep busy during the week? Here’s a peek:
monday- my MIL comes over to watch lex and take her to the library. While i get to hit the gym!
tuesday- we hit the library with a few buds, do lunch. And after nap is soccer practice and lots of park time.
wednesday- myGym with lex’s bff Aly, with lunch (that always includes a cookie) after.
thursday- ballet class (lex’s fav excuse to rock a tutu), my mom comes out the rest of the day to babysit while i get to work out and run errands.
friday- we hit the gym together. lex colors and crafts while i hit the weights and she always gets cake pop after for good behavior. Mike carts lex off to swim lessons- they adore their father and daughter time poolside!
We LOVE our activities. I can honestly say lex enjoys each and every one. They keep me sane and they keeps a smile on her face. I swear this kid hasn’t met an activity she doesn’t love. Ballet class? bring on the tutus and smiles. soccer practice? the kid laughs all the way through. My gym? climb, climb, dance, chase Aly with a giant toothy smile. Swim class? Cant get this mermaid out of the pool. The rest of our days are filled with errand running, play-dates, aquarium visits, baking, and lots of crafting and mess making in the play-room.
