lucky linkup. irish soda bread.

whew. We had a busy weekend- between cleaning up after our un-potty trained pup (who decided our bed was the best place for her morning pee on Saturday- at least she was smart enough to do her business on mikes side), hitting up st Patricks day parades, hitting the beach with awesome buds, and baking the most delicious Irish bread (if your not aware today is St Patricks Day I urge you to either a. Run home and throw on something green or b. hide in the bathroom until you can accomplish a. Who knows whose pinchers will be out in full force today).

Lucky Linkup

When I first agreed to the lucky link-up i was so excited. . . and then i got paired with colleen. and the excitement quickly turned to sheer terror. you see, colleen is nothing short of amazing in the kitchen- like she actually cooks legit meals for her husband and toddler on a nightly basis- legit, photographable meals. trust me when i say no one wants to see what i “whip up” every night for dinner (hint. lex only eats pasta). i mean she even has a recipe section on her blog, a section filled with all sorts of goodies. My recipe section would include cookies. . . and maybe a really easy 3 ingredient slow cooker meal. now, onto the irish soda bread. . . which actually happened to be something i totally nailed (thanks colleen!). The hardest part was finding buttermilk at the grocery store.

this stuff is delicious, its especially delicious with jam smothered on top. Now that I’ve teased you guys with yummy looking pictures of the delicious bread. . . head on over to colleen’s blog for the full recipe HERE. trust me- she explains how to make it WAY better than i could. and fun fact- it involves no soda, or even sparkling water, or anything bubbly of any kind.

Thank you to everyone who linked up with us and joined in on all the festive fun. . .get festive, hungry, and make sure you check out everyone else’s recipe swaps!
